We created the Race Against Gun Violence (RAGV) to build a new platform to support community organizations, focus on what we share in common and celebrate hope.
RAGV returns to Grant Park's USATF-Certified Lake Front course on Thursday, September 23rd, at 6:00 PM. Following the overwhelming success of last year’s virtual race, 2021 will also include a virtual option for those who prefer not to attend in person. For those choosing the virtual option, runners/walkers are encouraged to chart a route at their convenience and location of their comfort level any time from the launch in June to the end of September 2021.
Throughout the summer, RAGV will showcase the incredible work being done to change and save lives throughout Chicago with community races to build momentum towards the culminating Race Day event on Sept. 23rd. Stay tuned for ways to connect and take part.
RAGV is a special opportunity for people to train together, connect to the life-changing work of nonprofits, and provide a platform for people who care about ending gun violence to get involved. The event offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to Choose Hope and join others who share the common vision of a Chicago free from the fear of gun violence. There are multiple ways to participate in the race: as a runner/walker, sponsor, fundraiser, Community Partner or Community Affiliate.
100% of charitable contributions go directly to nonprofit organizations dedicated to ending gun violence.
