The Example Setters is a community of leaders, youth, and adults who have been on the frontlines in the Chicago peace movement for 7 years. Block by block in the parks, churches, and schools. Through spoken word poetry, CPS leadership/mentoring programs, and health/wellness workshops, we have seen first hand the pain and power poverty has over this city's most underserved communities. Despite the staggering statistics, and against all odds The Example Setters found the youth of Chicago are an invaluable asset to breaking the cycle of poverty and they are key to a peaceful Chicago. We are seeking an investment in Chicago's future.
