Cause the Effect Chicago is proud to participate in this year's Race Against Gun Violence in support of MASK (Mother's Against Senseless Killings). Founded by Tamar Manasseh, MASK is a 3-year-old group that sits watch and builds community in one of Chicago’s most violence-plagued neighborhoods.

Join our team for the two mile walk to help build peace in Chicago and effect change by supporting a women-led, community-based organization. You can run, walk, volunteer, or donate -- there's something for everyone!

Cause the Effect Chicago was founded by Cook County Commissioner Bridget Gainer and began with a call for women to take their ideas to action. Cause the Effect Chicago provides a platform for women to effect change through activism, civic engagement and political giving. In 2017, Cause the Effect Chicago launched a PAC to support local women running for office. In addition to supporting candidates, Cause the Effect Chicago engages Chicagoland women through issues-based luncheons, informative newsletters, networking events, activist training, candidate forums, and -- following a highly successful Young Feminist Conference -- expanded programming for high school and college-aged young women through its Young Feminist Ambassador Program.
