The James-Gail Foundation, Inc. believes that collaboration is essential to ending gun violence and we have partnered with Strides for Peace and Chicago's Race Against Gun Violence to help make change possible. Since 2020, we have dedicated ourselves to being a part of bringing awareness to child gun violence victim awareness. As someone who has worked in childcare for over ten years, having to tell a five-year-old that her three-year-old brother was a victim of gun violence and would not be coming back home with her that evening was a realization that we needed something where young kids can remember their siblings, cousins, and friends.

Since then, we have reached over 1,000 kids in having them help us take back the innocence of children who were victims of gun violence by all sharing a happy meal on one special day each year. We are dedicated to continuing our outreach in amplifying the voices of children when it comes to gun violence awareness. Children are being killed while playing in front of their homes, playing at the park and just sitting in their car seats. Our goal is to make being a kid free from the fear of gun violence normal again. We plan to do this by providing safe spaces for kids to have fun throughout the year. We are committed to changing the narrative about children's future in Chicago by giving them hope for a better tomorrow.
